What Should my Teacher be for Halloween? Quick and simple art!

You know all those pictures you get of yourself after picture day?  Here's something easy and fun to do with at least one of those babies.  Cut out the head, draw a shapeless body under it and write:

I think Miss (or Mr. or Mrs. or Ms.) . . . should be a . . .  for Halloween?
because . . .

then have the kiddos decorate and write until you end up with something laughable and spectacular!

My kids love this as a "Fun Friday" time choice activity.  I especially love the ninja. What do you think?

I'm going to do this activity tomorrow morning.  It might be a bit late, but maybe I'll wear a robe over my costume or use their ideas for next year.  Here's an editable PowerPoint freebie you can use to make your own.  You can choose from skinny stick figure, man hands, or make your own versions.

Also, check out the cute Olivia ears I just made.  I'm quite proud of my pig ear making skills, but I think Lily might be rolling her eyes at me.  :)

Happy Halloween Super Teacher,

Now that I've been boo'd it's my job to nominate one fabulous blogger with more followers than me, one with about the same number of followers and another amazing blogger with less followers than me.  These friends get to choose an item from my TpT store as a treat. Hooray! I love treats!

Here are the lovely ladies I'd like to boo:
Angie at Rulin' the Roost has one of my favorite blog buttons!
Angelablogbutton

Sorry that it took me so long to post about being boo-ed friends who boo-ed me, but my energy has been uber-low lately.  I've started a new reading notebook letter writing activity with my students and between writing back to each of them every week, way too much blog stalking, and following up on parent conferences, I haven't been feeling as spritely as usual.

Here's your freebie.  Anyone teaching or reviewing geometry concepts?  If so, check out my Polygon and Geometry review slideshows.  Just click on the pictures below.

Don't forget to enter these awesome giveaways:
Ms. Fultz's Corner is giving away an Amazon giftcard and tons of teacher stuff, including one choice item from my TpT store!
Tonya's Treats for Teachers is celebrating 600 followers with 6 days of giveaways and a 20% off sale!
Tales from Room 112 is giving away tons of teacher created products!

Ahhhhhh ... My Halloween Costume is Ready

Ahhhhhhhhh (not the freaked out kind, the relieved/relaxed kind), I just finished up my 29 parent teacher conferences on Thursday night, slept in this morning, and am taking a little Saturday blogging respite before rewarding my hard work with some Homeland and Dexter.

I'm working on a post about back to school science, but since it's not done yet and I wanted to post about some awesome giveaways, I thought I could show off my cute new dress from Modcloth (get it here) which will double as part of my Halloween costume this year.  Now I just need some cute pink ears and black and white striped tights.  I already have the black mary janes.  What do you think? Does is look Olivia-esque?

See more pictures of the finished product here.
